I'm running Panda Dome 18 on my primary Win10 system, and Windows Defender on my Win 8.1 tablet. I have NOT tried newer versions of Avast, nor do I plan to at this time. I have not looked over the remainder of that long, multi-page thread to see what else is going wrong.Īs noted in my previous post, I continue to use a 2+ year old version of avast, 2018, on my XP system, and am very happy with it. Remarks: Looking only at page 1 of the avast forum thread, we see numerous complaints about problems with the avast firewall (which "fortunately" is only included in the paid versions).

The following has been copied/pasted from I continue to use a 2+ year old version of avast, 2018, on my XP system, and am very happy with it. I suggest that anyone installing from scratch opt for a CUSTOM installation, carefully choosing only those modules/products that they actually want. Remark: The offline installer is 373 Mb, which includes many avast modules/products that, in my opinion, are not essential for an "anti-VIRUS" program. Or you can download and install from here:
